Play Play Fair 2024, organised by Origame, showcased the diversity of Singaporean board game design. Held on June 15-16 at Fusionopolis, the event featured 17 publishers, 45 tables of play, tournaments for all ages, and a bustling bazaar for pre-loved games.
Some things on offer included quirky party games by Ameba, immersive TTRPGs from Curious Chimeras, and innovative titles from Good Spirit Games and Boardverse. Highlights included interactive demos, tournaments, and getting to meet with local designers.
The were also educational games from Growing Up, cultural initiatives from Kodrah Kristang, and assistive tech solutions from Salvage Garden. This event celebrated the diverse local board game community, offering something for attendees of all ages and skill levels.
The event also featured a bustling Board Games Bazaar, where enthusiasts could buy and sell pre-loved board games. The Bazaar was a lively hub, offering attendees the chance to discover new treasures and give old games a new home.
The place was buzzing with excitement during the Kopi King and Buffet Boss Tournaments. Held over the weekend, these competitions drew both kids and adults, each vying for the top spot and a $100 voucher from The Mind Cafe. Enthusiastic participants and eager spectators filled the venue, making the tournaments a highlight of the event.
